Iliac Stent

This Iliac stent was placed by Peter M. Britt, M.D.

and Michael S. Pont, M.D. in the Northside Hospital Radiology Department.

The angiogram below shows a contrast injection into the aorta. The narrowing of the Iliac artery shown by the arrow was causing the patients leg pain.

An Iliac stent was placed. You cannot see the stent in the image. However, the vessel is normal. Compared to the opposite side the narrowed vessel is normal after stent placement.

If you have leg pain or are considering surgery and would like to know about an alternative technique contact an interventional radiologist in your local hospital. Remember, you would get a second opinion if your car needed repair. This is something much more valuable, YOUR BODY!
